Find Trade Association expertise in South Africa
The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry is an apolitical organisation that strives to strengthen and advance South African businesses. It is the umbrella organisation that represents the four largest trade associations: the South African Chamber of Business (Sacob), the largest business organisation with a membership of about 20,000 businesses; the Foundation for African Business and Consumer Services (FABCOS), which has about 10,000 member companies, mainly micro-enterprises and businesses in the informal sector; the National African Federated Chamber of Commerce (NAFCOC), whose primary objective is the advancement of black economic empowerment; and the Afrikaanse Handelsinstituut (AHI), a multi-sectoral employer organisation established in 1942. There are regional business chambers in all nine provinces, with a greater concentration of business chambers in Gauteng and the Western Cape. Other trade associations include the sector specific Chamber of Mines and the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (NAAMSA).
