Tourism in South Africa
South Africa is known for its scenic beauty and vast open landscapes, but ultimately diversity is its strongest attraction: the high ranging mountains and beautiful coastlines contrast starkly to its desert terrains. The many national and private parks and reserves provide memorable wildlife viewing. On the coast, visitors can experience everything from great whites to whales and penguins, while inland, the ‘big five’ as well as other wildlife can be seen. The scenic Table Mountain in the Cape, and the impressive Drakensberg Mountains in Kwazulu Natal are other scenic highlights, and the Garden Route is always popular, boasting some of the finest wines in the world. The Wild Coast has many isolated beaches while the beaches in coastal cities provide a more traditional seaside experience.
