Visitors to Sri Lanka can choose from a wide range of accommodation options including luxury 5-star hotels, wildlife lodges, local guesthouses and hostels. Most luxury resorts are found along the south-western coast and in the area around Negombo.

The Department of Wildlife and Conservation maintains bungalows throughout the country’s national parks and camp sites can also be found in such parks.

Budget accommodation is widely available in the form of hostels and local guesthouses and bed & breakfasts, mainly located in urban centres.
