St Kitts and Nevis has an extensive telecoms sector with 400 main telephone lines per 1000 people, 146% mobile penetration and 10% contribution to GDP in 2008. The state-owned St Kitts–Nevis Cable Communications Company offers internet and fixed line telephone services. There are two main private telecommunications providers, Digicel and LIME (formerly Cable and Wireless). LIME is a leading regional company in the Caribbean, and has a store based in Basseterre which provides all landline, internet and mobile telephone services. UTS-Cariglobe and Caribbeanphone.com also provide mobile telephone services on the islands, while St Kitts-Nevis Cable Communications Ltd Company offers internet and fixed line telephone services.
