Transport in St Kitts and Nevis
Several international airlines run regular flights into the Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport, mostly via Antigua, Puerto Rico or St Maarten. Fly time from London is 12 hours and from New York is 5 hours. Cruise berth facilities are available at Basseterre Port, and regular passenger ferry services run between Basseterre, in St Kitts, and Charlestown, in Nevis, with a journey time of 45 minutes. Car and moped hire is available on the islands, with visitors being advised to book cars through their airline in advance. In order to hire any vehicle drivers must obtain a local Temporary Driver’s License from the Police Traffic Department. Taxis are also easily available on both islands and journeys are priced according to set rates.
