There are three ports: Neiafu, Nuku’alofa and Pangai. Nuku’alofa  is the most important. These ports allows for regular ferry services between the islands. Tonga also has six airports, although only one has a paved runway (2001). Tonga’s main airport is Fua’amotu International and in 2001 it had approximately 56,800 passengers.  Lupepa’u is the other intenational airport. Tonga has a road network of 680 km, 184 km of this is paved.  The rest are surfaced with impacted coral. There are no railways in Tonga.
