Transport in Tonga

There are six airports in Tonga. The main airport is Fua’Amotu International. Air Pacific is Tonga’s main airline however Air New Zealand and Polynesian Airlines also operate within the Kingdom. Tonga has three ports which are located in Neiafu, Nukualofa and Pangai, which allow for regular ferry services between islands. However, services are dependent on demand and weather conditions. Various agencies can arrange car hire but drivers must own a current local driving license and be over 18. Local licenses can be issued for a fee. Alternatively taxis are available and there is also a good mini bus service.
