Education NGOs and CSOs in Tuvalu

There are several civil society and non-governmental organisations working in education in Tuvalu. Organisations include the National Preschool Council, which operates within early childhood care and education; and the Preschool Teachers Association, which works in general education. Other prominent civil society and education-based NGOs include Education for All (EFA) and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). The Education for Life (EFL) programme is Tuvalu’s national educational policy. The initiative focuses on the establishment of good-quality compulsory education for all children. It also puts emphasis on strong community, parental participation and equal access to schools. The Tuvalu Association of NGOs (TANGO) is the umbrella group for non-government organizations and it provides several different training programmes, such as management, accounting and ICT.
