National Agencies

There are a number of national or state agencies in Tuvalu working across a variety of areas such as business, finance and communication. National or state agencies are publicly funded bodies, commissions, state-owned enterprises or authorities whose establishment is supported at a government level. In Tuvalu they include the Development Bank of Tuvalu, which provides finance by making loans for the long term economic and social development of Tuvalu in accordance with government programmes and priorities, and Tuvalu Philatelic Bureau which was established in 1975 to deal with all stamp issues for Tuvalu. Other state agencies of Tuvalu are the Tuvalu Cooperative Society (TCS), the National Fishing Corporation of Tuvalu (NAFICOT), Tuvalu Electricity Corporation and the Tuvalu National Provident Fund.
