Education NGOs and CSOs in Zambia

Several non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and civil society organisations (CSOs) work in the education sector. The Basic Education Teachers Union of Zambia (BETUZ) and the Zambia Union of Teachers (ZNUT) lobby for improved service conditions for teachers. The Forum for African Women Educationalists of Zambia (FAWEZA) is striving to improve education for girl children. Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) is involved at the DAPP Children’s Town in Malambanyama, providing a supportive environment and education to former street children and orphans. Education through Sport (EduSport) Foundation is a non-profit and indigenous Zambian sports NGO and charity. Zambia is one of 12 countries participating in the National Education Statistical Information System (NESIS) programme of the ADEA Working Group on Education Statistics (WGES).
