The association is made up of indigenous peoples’ organisations throughout the Commonwealth. Its purpose is to create awareness of the indigenous peoples, and to advance their aspirations for land rights and self-determination. In the modern world, indigenous peoples experience extreme marginalisation and disadvantage. The association works to correct these unacceptable disparities.

Activities: The association promotes the development of human rights policies for indigenous peoples in the Commonwealth through the circulation of information to indigenous peoples’ organisations and ensuring information on indigenous peoples is being presented to Commonwealth leaders, representatives and organisations.
