Manyara

Manyara is a region situated in the northeast of Tanzania. The town of Babati in Babati District is the region’s capital. The region boasts beautiful natural features such as Lake Manyara and Mount Hanang. The Lake Manyara National Park, part of which is located in the Arusha Region, is famous for the pink flamingos that live in its vast soda lake during the wet season. Manyara Region is also home to the Tarangire National Park, the sixth largest national park in Tanzania. The Tarangire River passes through the park, providing drinking water for the animals which migrate there from Lake Manyara National Park during the dry season. Large numbers of elephants, baobab trees and tree climbing lions have made the park a popular destination for tourists.
