Mwanza
Mwanza is a region located in the very north of Tanzania. The capital of the region is also called Mwanza and is Tanzania’s second most populated city. To the north, the region borders Lake Victoria where ring roads circumnavigate the body of water and link the region to Kenya and Uganda, while water-based transport also provides access to these areas. The region has good road, rail and air links. The economy is dominated by smallholder agriculture although fishing is also a major economic activity in the region. Traditionally Mwanza has been one of Tanzania’s foremost producers of cotton.
