Tanzania Freight Forwarders Association (TAFFA)

TAFFA regulates, monitor, control and co-ordinate the freight forwarding industry in the United Republic of Tanzania.  It acts as the mouthpiece of the members who are licensed freight forwarding companies, individuals, and institutions in the country.

By January 2012, there were less than 50 companies who managed to get their licences renewed by Tanzania Revenue Authority.  TAFFA leaders took initiative to call all companies that could not renew their licences and helped them to talk to the other stakeholders and by April 2012 before TAFFA AGM meeting, TAFFA leaders had managed to help more than 450 companies to get their licences renewed by TRA.

So far this year 2012 Tanzania Freight Forwarders association has more than 500 companies who are licenced by TRA to practise Clearing and Forwarding in Tanzaia.

The leadership of TAFFA is led by President, Vice President, Secretary General, Treasurer and Five Executive Counselors.  All leaders must be DIRECTORS of a Clearing and Forwarding Company and be voted by members into their position.
