Find Forestry expertise in Barbados

Agriculture, forestry and fisheries contribute 3% of Barbados’s GDP (2008), although forestry on its own contributes an insignificant percentage. Only 4% of the land is covered by forest (2005). The country does not have a forest policy and no land is legally designated a protected area. The Tree Preservation Act governs matters relating to forest management. Of the little lumbering of trees that does take place, most goes towards contributing to the small-scale furniture and handicraft industries.
