Find Media and Broadcasting expertise in Brunei Darussalam

The media of Brunei is monitored by the government. The private press exercises self-censorship on political and religious matters. The Sedition Act makes it an offence to challenge “the standing or prominence of the national philosophy, the Malay Muslim Monarchy concept”. The government has a close relationship with Singapore when it comes to media regulation and relevant business deals.

Borneo Bulletin (English-language) and Media Permata (Malay-language) are the major newspapers.  Radio Television Brunei (TV) broadcasts in Malay and English. Radio Television Brunei (radio) broadcasts in Malay, English and Gurkhali.
