Standards and Regulation in Guyana

Guyana ranks 100th out of 183 countries on the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Index (2010). On the same index it ranks 19th out of 32 Latin American and Caribbean countries. Among regulatory bodies in Guyana are the Guyana Revenue Authority, the Competition Commission, the Public Utilities Commission, the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority and the Guyana Energy Agency. Guyana is a subscriber member of the International Organisation for Standardisation. The Guyana National Bureau of Standards is the coordinating body for standards in the country.
