Find Media and Broadcasting expertise in Malaysia

The Constitution of Malaysia guarantees freedom of expression to an extent. The country’s criminal defamation laws and some other acts of parliament are seen by independent observers as impediments to this freedom. The English-language dailies in Peninsular Malaysia are Business Times, The Edge, Malay Mail, Malaysiakini, New Straits Times and The Star. In addition to this there are two Malay-language dailies, five Chinese-language dailies, and two Tamil-language dailies.  The state broadcaster Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) operates TV1 and TV2; while the commercial networks are TV3, ntv7 and 8TV. The media is owned by just a handful of organisations.
