Find National NGO expertise in Vanuatu

Vanuatu has an active civil society in a number of areas including education, health and women’s rights. Vanuatu’s National Council for Women encourages research, policy and professional development and specific projects on gender equality and works to eliminate violence against women and children with the Vanuatu Women’s Centre. The Disability Promotion and Advocacy Association (DPA) advocates for the rights and acceptance of disabled people within communities in Vanuatu. There is no national register for non-governmental organisations but each NGO must comply with the particular legal structure that it falls within. The Vanuatu Association of NGO (VANGO) facilitates action of NGOs in Vanuatu; VANGO is a member of the regional coalition PIANGO, the Pacific Islands Association of NGOs, which collaborates with NGOs in Pacific Island countries.
