ROBIN GAULD is a professor of health policy and director of the Centre for Health Systems in the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. A Commonwealth Fund Harkness fellow in 2008–09, Gauld was also a senior fellow at the Boston University Health Policy Institute in 2009–13 and in 2014 was NZ-UK Link Foundation visiting professor at the School of Advanced Study, University of London. Gauld has authored more than 110 peer-reviewed journal articles and several books, including The New Health Policy, which was awarded first prize in the Health and Social Care category at the 2010 British Medical Association Medical Book Awards. SIMON HORSBURGH is a lecturer in epidemiology at the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine in the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. His interests cover a range of areas, from clinical governance in the New Zealand health sector to the proper use of routine national data to support research.
