Education NGOs and CSOs in Barbados

There are several non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and civil society organisations (CSOs) working in Barbados’s education sector. The Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT) is a representative body for teachers in the country; another key association is the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU). Florida International Volunteers Corps (FAVACA) collaborates with various institutions; previous projects include ICT training for staff of the National Disabilities Unit. Parents Education for Development in Barbados (PAREDOS) provides families, particularly ‘hard to reach’ parents, with information and guidance on parenting and other family-related matters.
