The Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency, established in 2007, is the leading national body aiming to promote Cyprus internationally as an investment centre. The agency also advocates for reform to improve the country’s regulatory and business environment so as to attract foreign direct investment. Other agencies involved in economic development include the Planning Bureau which coordinates economic and social programs, primarily using EU funding and the Trade Service which promotes exports of products and services from Cyprus and coordinates the external commercial policy of the country.
