Find National NGO expertise in Saint Lucia

There is limited participation of civil society in St Lucia. Where they exist, civil society and national non-governmental organisations are involved in education, health and gender empowerment. The activities of a few national NGOs such as the St Lucia Crisis Centre and the Aids Action Foundation are well documented. The St Lucia Crisis Centre helps school dropouts, pregnant teenagers and victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse. The AIDS Action Foundation has, since its founding in 2000, developed and implemented programmes in general HIV/AIDS education and awareness, and assisted capacity building of its member organisations to help to mitigate the spread and impact of HIV/AIDS. Other national NGOs in St Lucia are the National Organisation for Women and the Planned Parenthood Association.
