Belize is widely considered to have press freedom. The country has no daily newspapers; the major weeklies include Amandala, The Belize Times, The Reporter and The San Pedro Sun. Belize Today is a monthly official paper published in English; while The Guardian is the paper of the United Democratic party.

Public radio was privatised in 1998, and now the independent private providers broadcast radio and television. The country has three television stations, mostly based in Belize City, and the main radio station is Love FM.
