President

The President of Cameroon holds executive powers and presides over the Council of Ministers. He or she appoints the prime minister and ministers, the regional governors, the judges and the government delegates in all the main towns. Overall the role of the president is wide-reaching, from heading the armed forces to dissolving parliament. Presidential terms consist of a seven-year period, and the president can serve any number of terms.
