Find Computing and Office Supplies expertise in Mozambique

PC penetration is still relatively low in Mozambique as there are only 14.3 PCs per 1,000 people (2005). Internet subscriptions are also comparatively low, with only 9 internet subscribers per 1,000 people (2007). Computer and office supplies companies are mostly located in the capital, Maputo, and other city centres. The Canadian International Development Research Centre (IDRC) included Mozambique in its Acacia initiative, a programme that seeks to show that access to ICT can make a significant impact on resolving development problems at grass root level. The programme aims to research and identify the most appropriate technologies and methodologies for local use, and to promote access to ICT in rural areas via telecentres.
