New Zealand Trade and Enterprise is the New Zealand Government’s national economic development agency. Its roles include promoting international investment, assisting international corporate investors to relocate their business to New Zealand, and encouraging investment in and collaboration with New Zealand companies in global ventures. Other national agencies include Tourism New Zealand, the agency responsible for marketing New Zealand as a tourist destination, the Companies Office which registers companies, the Intellectual Property Office, and the Reserve Bank of New Zealand responsible for macroeconomic stability. In most cases each region has its own economic development agency such as AucklandPlus in the Auckland region and Venture Taranaki in Taranaki.
