Rwanda is a net importer of goods and services. Imports and services accounted for 27.7% of GDP in 2007. The average ad valorem tariff for imported goods is 18.7% (2007). The main exports are coffee, tea, horticulture and tourism. The main mineral exports are ores processed to extract tin, coltan and tungsten; the main ore export is cassiterite that is used to produce tin cans for food containers, solder and polishing compounds.
