Standards and Regulation in Rwanda
Rwanda is a correspondent member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The coordinating national agency for standards in the country is the Rwanda Bureau of Standards (RBS). Public and private firms must present their standards to RBS for implementation at national level. Other key regulators include the National Bank of Rwanda (NBR), which regulates and supervises the banking sector, and Rwanda’s Utilities Regulatory Agency (RURA), which regulates telecommunications, electricity, water, sanitation, gas and transport.
