Find Electricity and Power expertise in Lesotho

Lesotho’s electricity needs are growing as the government’s programme of rural electrification proceeds. Hydroelectricity is expected to provide for the bulk of the country’s needs in the foreseeable future. In the first stage of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project, the ‘Muela power station was able to provide most of the national requirement, the balance coming from South Africa. A second stage of the project would see expansion of output at ‘Muela to more than 100 megawatts.
