Research Institutes in Ghana
There are numerous higher education institutions and a few independent research institutes in Ghana that undertake research across many disciplines. Notably, the University of Ghana’s Institute for Medical Research conducts research into the major communicable and non-communicable diseases of the tropics. Contract research projects create a vital link between industry, government and civil society. The Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG), a division of Ghana Cocoa Board, undertakes research into all problems relating to the production of cocoa, kola, coffee and shea nut.
