Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality

Nelson Mandela Bay is a metropolitan municipality named in honour of the former president Nelson Mandela. The main towns include Bethelsdorp, Bloemendal, Blue Horizon Bay, Clarendon Marine, Despatch, Kwa Nobuhle, Motherwell, Uitenhage and Port Elizabeth, the seat of the municipality. Its main economic sectors are automotive, manufacturing and export industries. Nelson Mandela Bay is a major seaport as well as a centre for automotive manufacturing. It is known as the economic powerhouse of the Eastern Cape and serves as a main holiday destination for tourists both nationally and internationally.
