Tswelopele Local Municipality
Tswelopele, or “progress” in Sesotho, is a local municipality in the Lejweleputswa district, Free State. The municipality contains Bultfontein, Hoopstad, Phahameng and Tikwana as well as their surrounding rural areas. The main economic sector in Tswelopele is agriculture and the area around Hoopstad, located near the Bloemhof Dam, is considered to be the highest maize-producer within South Africa.
