Lesedi Local Municipality
Lasedi, meaning “light” in Sesotho, is a local municipality situated in the Sedibeng district, Gauteng province, and consists of the towns Heidelberg, Ratanda, Devon and Impumelelo. It is primarily a rural area, with Heidelberg and Ratanda serving as the area’s urban centres. As such, Lesedi is highly agricultural. The Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve in Lesedi is one of South Africa’s premier destinations for ecotourism.
