Chadiza

The Chadiza District is located in the extreme south-east corner of Zambia, bordering Malawi to the east, Mozambique to the south Chipata district to the north, and Katete to the west. With its administrative centre at Chadiza, the district has a population of about 83,000 people. The eastern half of the district is characterized by wooded rocky hills rising to 1330 m while the western half has the same character as the land around Chadiza town. This part of the district has been almost completely deforested and suffers soil erosion. The District has climatic characteristics similar to other parts of the country. It experiences adequate rains and has temperatures ranging between 18ºc and 27ºc for most of the year.
