Letsemeng Local Municipality
Letsemeng is a local municipality in the Xhariep district, Free State. The main towns are Jacobsdal, Koffiefontein, Luckhoff, Oppermansgronde and Petrusburg. Koffiefontein, “coffee fountain” in Afrikaans, is the seat of local government and is known for its diamond mine and San cave paintings. While the main economic sector is agriculture, the population has been moving gradually from rural areas to the towns over recent years.
