Mogale City Local Municipality

Mogale City is a local municipality in the West Rand district, Gauteng. The municipality is mainly rural with its main urban centres situated around the Krugersdorp and Kagiso areas. Krugersdorp central business district is the main business, social and administrative hub. Its main economic sectors are tourism and business services. Mogale City is home to most of the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site, the world’s richest hominine site where forty per cent of the world’s human ancestor fossils originated, which contributes greatly to tourism.
