Randfontein Local Municipality

Randfontein is a local municipality in the West Rand district, Gauteng. Most of the population lives in Mohlakeng and Randfontein, with many people migrating to the area from elsewhere in the country, and the municipality has a focus to improving employment and income levels. Randfontein contributes to the economy through mining as well as providing residential areas for those working in Johannesburg and Pretoria (Tshwane), among other places.
