Mwense

Mwense is a district in the Luapula Province with the town of Mwense as its capital. The main economic activity is fishing, with a government fish farm located in the area. Cash crop production, such as that of maize and rice, also contributes to the local wealth. There are several NGOs and women’s groups operating in Mwense district, while the Munwa Stream Rock Engravings serve as a good tourist attraction.
