Lukhanji Local Municipality

Lukhanji is a local municipality in the Chris Hani district, Eastern Cape. The main towns are Sada, Whittlesea and Queenstown, which is the seat of local government. Queenstown is affectionately referred to as the ‘Rose Capital of South Africa’ due to the abundance of these flowers and rose gardens. The town acts as an economic hub for the district and has good transport connections by road, rail and air. The main economic sectors in Lukhanji are retail, manufacturing, tourism and agriculture.
