Tsolwana Local Municipality
Tsolwana, “something with a sharp tip” in isiXhosa, is a local municipality in the Chris Hani district, Eastern Cape. The main towns are Hofmeyr and Tarkastad, which is the seat of local government. The main economic sector is agriculture, with the areas around the two towns taken up largely by commercial farms. Recently there has been a trend towards the rearing of game. The whole of Tsolwana is surrounded by mountains.
