Moroto
Moroto District is located on the Savannah plains of Uganda’s Nothern Region. It is part of the Karamoja sub-region which consists of the Abim, Amudat, Kaabong, Kotido, Nakapiripirit, Napak and Moroto Districts. Moroto boasts wide-ranging mineral wealth and has deposits of gold, silver, copper, marble and garnets amongst others. Tourist attractions with potential for development in the district include 9,800ft Mount Moroto which is served by the nearby Moroto Airport.
