Nebbi

Nebbi District is in the Northern Region of Uganda and has its capital at Nebbi. Nebbi is a rural district where the majority of the population is engaged in small-scale agriculture, livestock production or fishing. Farmers and small-holders in the district grow a wide range of fruit, vegetable, fibre and grain crops including coffee, pineapples, rice and cotton. There are a number of rich fishery resources including Lake Albert, the Albert Nile, and the Nyagak and Namrwodho Rivers where Nile Perch and Tilapia are widely fished. In addition to these natural resources, deposits of oil, gas and clay are found in the region. Tourism is an area of great potential growth in the tourism industry and some infrastructure is already on place with the Entebbe Airport.
