Baviaans Local Municipality

Baviaans, named for the Baviaanskloof, is a local municipality in the Cacadu district, Eastern Cape. The main towns are Rietbron, Steytlerville and Willowmore, which is the seat of local government. The area is sparsely populated and the Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area, a mega reserve in the south, covers the vast majority of the municipality. The main economic sectors are agriculture and tourism with service industries also contributing significantly.
