Bundibugyo

Bundibugyo is in Uganda’s Western Region and has its capital at Bundibugyo. It is a picturesque, agricultural landscape which boasts many natural landmarks such as the Semliki River, the Rwenzori Mountains and Lake Albert. Bundibugyo is also the only Ugandan district that lies west of the Rwenzori Mountains and as such is sometimes seen as more culturally and ecologically part of Central Africa than East Africa. The majority of the population is engaged in agriculture and pastoralism growing coffee, cocoa, bananas and beans and keeping livestock including cattle, goats, sheep and mules.
