Kyenjojo

Kyenjojo District is in Uganda’s Western Region and has its capital at Kyenjojo. It is part of the Toro sub-region which includes Kabarole, Kamwenge, Kyenjojo and Kyengegwa. The district was created in 2000 and its name derives from the Rutooro word meaning ‘the place where elephants live’. Kyenjojo is a predominantly agricultural district where farmers grow crops including tea, coffee, potatoes, maize and timber.
