Rubirizi
Rubiziri District is in the Western Region of Uganda and has its capital at Rubiziri. It is in the Ankole sub-region which is made up the Buhweju, Rubiziri, Bushenyi, Ibanda, Isingiro, Mitooma, Ntungamo and Kiruhura districts. The majority of the population is engaged in small-scale agricultural production growing crops including millet, potatoes, cassava and beans. Cash crops grown in the area include coffee, both Arabica and Robusta. Tourism is a growing industry in the area with attractions including the Queen Elizabeth National Park of which a large proportion lies in the district. Other attractions include the Kyambura Gorge, the Magambo Caves, parts of Lake Edward and the Kazinga Channel as well as part of the Ishasha Sector which boasts rare tree-climbing lions.
