Kericho County

Kericho County in located in the South West of Kenya, in the highlands west of the Great Rift Valley. With its capital lying at Kericho Town, the county is the country’s leading producer of tea and home to the largest tea plantations in Kenya. Most of the tea is exported, and the U.K. is the main market. The county is also home to the Mau Forest Complex, which is Kenya’s largest water catchment area. The high altitude of the forest and the near daily rains give rise to many major rivers including the Ewaso Ng’iro, Sondu, Mara and Njoro Rivers.
