Nandi County

Nandi is a county situated in the Rift Valley Province of Kenya. It is made up of six constituencies: Tinderet, Aldai, Nandi Hills, Emgwen North, Emgwen South and Mosop. Kapsabet Town is the capital of the county. The Nandi Hills, also known as Kapng’etuny, surrounding forests and the Mulangu waterfalls are beautiful natural features of the area and popular among tourists. Others visit to enter safari rally competitions, golf tournaments and cross country races. Nandi is an excellent destination for sport enthusiasts and athletes, hosting many sporting events as well as high altitude training.

Agriculture is the main economic sector in the county, with expansive tea estates covering the Nandi Hills, rich in volcanic soil. Many people rear cattle for meat and dairy purposes.
