Samburu County

Samburu is a county is situated in the former Rift Valley Province of Kenya. It is made up of three constituencies: Samburu West, Samburu North and Samburu East. The people of Samburu County are predominantly pastoralists, with some engaging in small-scale agricultural activities and livestock trade.

The Samburu National Reserve is a tourist destination abundant with wildlife and a variety of flora. The reserve contributes significantly to the county’s economy and is indicative of the area’s tourism potential. Mount Kulal, an extinct volcano turned into a biosphere reserve, is the only place on earth where the Kulal White-Eye bird has been spotted.
